Capacity⚡ 20 MW
Deadline🗓 Bidding closed May 18, 2026 — award/next phase awaited

Issuing Organization: NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL)
Capacity: 20 MW floating solar
Location: Maroda Reservoir-2, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh
Bid Security: ₹2 crore

The EPC contractor for this project must develop a grid-interactive floating solar plant and undertake the civil, electrical, and mechanical auxiliary systems, along with full design documentation, single-line diagrams, installation drawings, and design calculations.

O&M commitment: Three years of operation and maintenance plus an Annual Maintenance Contract for critical equipment.

This project follows NSPCL’s successful 2025 commissioning of a 15 MW floating solar installation at the adjacent Maroda-1 Reservoir, which generates approximately 34.25 million units of electricity annually and was built at a cost of ₹111.35 crore. Floating solar continues to gain traction in Chhattisgarh as a way to generate clean power on industrial water bodies without competing for scarce land.
